Frequently Asked Questions

How are the classes conducted?

Classes will be conducted interactively over Zoom. Your child will connect directly with our teachers in real time. Each session involves dynamic content designed to capture your child’s interest in reading. Your child will actively participate while following along with a textbook and other activities such as worksheets and learning aids.

We have two types of classes available: group learning sessions lasting one hour with maximum four kids in a class, or individual sessions for personalised learning lasting 40-minutes.

How long does it take for my child to read independently?

Our initial assessment will help us understand your child’s reading level, and we will ensure that they are placed in a class that aligns with their pace and ability. While each child’s reading journey is unique, we have observed that many children who take the Bravely Reading Programme will start reading simple sentences after approximately six lessons. Leave the teaching to us – our dedicated teachers and proven programme will ensure your child gets the best learning experience.

If my child has problems focusing, can they still take the class?

We understand that children at this age are naturally full of energy and can be playful. We embrace their playfulness and designed our classes such that they can channel that energy into learning how to read. If you are still uncertain about how your child might respond to the lessons, you can arrange a free assessment with us to observe how your child engages with us. We will provide you with our honest assessment as well. If we find that an online class is not a best fit for your child, rest assured that we will prioritise your child’s learning above all else. We genuinely want each child to benefit from our programme.

Will there be any homework?

Most of the work will be done during class time. As the programme focuses on phonics and reading, having a teacher present allows us to provide immediate feedback to your child. There are few instances of homework, as we focus more on active participation in class. In the case where you are looking for additional revision for your child, you can revise with them with the materials in the learning kit.

Will there be any class recordings?

We always work to provide a comfortable learning environment for all students. As such, we do not offer class recordings as other students might not be comfortable with being recorded. Additionally, storing and managing class recordings can be logistically challenging. If you are looking to revise with your child after class, you can make use of the comprehensive materials in your child’s learning kit. If you have any specific questions or are looking for additional support, we are here to assist you in your child’s learning progress.

Can you guarantee results?

Each child learns differently and progresses at a different pace. Over our ten years of conducting classes, we have seen varied learning speeds among children. We will be able to provide regular feedback to you regarding your child’s progress. If we notice that your child may require additional support, we will proactively keep you updated.

Most children are able to start reading simple sentences by themselves within six sessions. Actual speed of learning will depend on their current reading ability which we will determine via the free online assessment.

What is the schedule like?

Group classes are typically during weekday evenings or late afternoons to ensure a convenient time for students in a group learning environment.

Individual classes are highly flexible. Individual sessions can be arranged based on your child’s availability and our teachers’ schedule.

We understand the importance of finding the right schedule that fits into your child’s routine, so we will commit to finding options that will ensure an effective learning experience.

How many students are there in the class?

Our group classes are a small size of maximum four students per class where your child can learn with other friends in the class. An intimate learning setting will ensure interaction, participation and individualised guidance from the teacher.

Our individual classes offer one-to-one attention. These sessions provide personalised instruction and allows the teacher to cater directly to your child’s specific learning needs.

What are the prices like?

Our classes start from SGD $45 per session. We have a range of classes available that suit the needs of your child. Fix a free assessment today and we can recommend the best class option for your child’s learning suitable for your budget and schedule.

I am not located in Singapore. Can my child still take the classes?

Absolutely! We welcome students from all over the world. As long as your child has Zoom available on your large screen device, your child can participate in our programme. We provide payment methods for international transactions as well.

I have tried online classes before and they are not so effective. How can you assure me that these classes are different?

Not all online classes provide the same experience. Previous experiences with online classes might be varied due to the content, engagement techniques, class size, and more. We have honed our online teaching approach over many years and we understand what children like in online classes. Our teachers are fantastic in creating fun learning sessions specifically for children. We invite you to do a free online assessment with us to observe how your child responds to our online methods and see the difference in our online classes.
